Why do most plants grow upright in the opposite direction of gravity? Why does the sunflower's flower head face the sun, but its stem grows vertically upwards instead of towards the sun? What force allows plants to overcome the Earth's gravity, absorb water and various elements, and transport them upwards for growth? When a round onion is placed flat on the ground, after a period of time, the stem of the onion will bend and grow upwards (as shown in the figure below). What allows it to resist gravity and grow upwards against the force of gravity? What is the principle behind this? Newton discovered the universal force of gravity that causes apples to fall to the ground, but what force allows apple trees to overcome gravity and grow upwards?
Do biological phenomena contradict the principle of entropy increase? There have always been two tendencies in the world, entropy increase and anti-entropy (increase). The material world develops towards entropy increase, while life and consciousness evolve from the ruins of entropy increase. These two tendencies fluctuate with each other, but they do not continue in one direction indefinitely. Instead, they reach a certain balance and form a cycle, don't they? Life dies and is born again, and death follows the principle of entropy increase, while birth is an anti-entropy (increase) phenomenon. Our current science only recognizes the principle of entropy increase, but future science should seek the principles behind the phenomenon of life's anti-entropy.
Is there a connection between the phenomenon of life's anti-entropy and the phenomenon of plants resisting gravity and growing upwards? If we can understand the principles behind plants' resistance to gravity and upward growth, can we try to create anti-gravity aircraft based on these principles?
