There is nothing new under the sun. From a macro perspective, my life is only filled with repetition and monotony. My happiness and joy depend on my ability to feel, but what do I feel from the repetition of daily life?
Habits are the beginning of numbness, once accustomed, the corresponding senses will close off.
The repetition and habits of daily life make me more and more numb, unable to feel alive. In order to activate my long-closed senses and soul, perhaps going on a trip is a good idea. I really want to take a train and once again observe and feel this world. I remember when I first took a long-distance trip when I was young, looking at the bright red sun outside the window in the morning, the receding mountains and tall buildings, there were various indescribable feelings and images surging in my heart. At that time, my heart was so sensitive and perceptive, but now it has become dull, withered, or maybe even dead.
I increasingly feel how important it is to have a sensitive heart, otherwise I cannot truly live, just like a walking corpse.
Human senses and souls are like delicate instruments. The more they are exposed to the same stimuli, the more they wear out, and their ability to feel and sensitivity will decrease. One way to remedy severe wear and tear is to pause and switch to a different kind of stimulus for a period of time, and then switch back. Afterwards, its ability to feel and sensitivity towards this stimulus will recover.
However, many times, our senses and souls are only exposed to certain stimuli once. Many things cannot be repeated, and those beautiful moments can only be cherished in memories, while regretful past events cannot be changed. Time always moves forward and cannot be reversed. Although some things can be repeated, such as watching a movie, each "repetition" is different for our feelings. Therefore, strict repetition does not exist.
It should be known that in their respective contexts, both "there is nothing new under the sun" and "every day's sun is new" are truths.
